Safely Drive When It’s Raining

Safety comes first at Certified We want to make sure you know how to navigate the roads safely when it’s raining. With a few basic tips, you’ll feel more confident when the drops start to fall.

As soon as it starts to rain, slow your speed down. Turn on your windshield wipers and your headlights. This will make it easier for you to see while also showing other drivers where you’re at.

Water will start to collect on the road. Increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you so that there’s more room if you have to stop. To avoid hydroplaning, try to avoid any hard braking or sudden turns so that you don’t lose control. If you do start to skid, steer in the direction the car naturally wants to go so that you can remain in control as much as possible.
