Reviews:
* If you're looking for something practical, affordable and efficient but not boring, the 2015 Fiat 500 subcompact is a viable alternative to the Nissan Versa Note, Scion iQ or Honda Fit. The Abarth model will give the Mini Cooper a run for its money, too. Source: KBB.com
* Impressive cruising range; recharges quickly at 240-volt outlets; quicker acceleration than the base gasoline-powered 500; fun to drive for an electric car. Source: Edmunds
* Because Fiat loves design as much as the Earth, they have developed the all-electric FIAT 500e which yields zero tailpipe emissions without compromising style. The 500e incorporates nine aerodynamic refinements that ultimately increase overall vehicle range. These include an aerodynamically-enhanced spoiler, a diffuser that carries on from the underbody, optimizing the airflow output, as well as the front fascia which has been lowered for increased aerodynamic efficiency. The 500e shifter is far from the traditional automatic transmission shifter. Instead, the FIAT 500e uses a convenient electronic push button shifter. The 500e TomTom navigation system is unique for this vehicle. The TomTom navigation system offers a hand-held navigation unit, a part of the BLUE&ME communication technology developed with Microsoft. With a touchscreen, it displays maps, real time traffic, weather, and more than 7 million points of interest. The 500e battery must be periodically recharged. A Level 1 (120v) charger comes standard with the vehicle and needs to be plugged into a dedicated electrical outlet. A Level 2 (240v) charger, which can be installed in your home, is also commonly found at public charging stations. A Level 2 charger can recharge from empty to full in less than 4 hours while an on-the-go Level 1 charger will give you an average of 9 to 10 miles of range every 3 hours bringing you to full battery power in less than 24 hours. The lithium-ion battery is full of benefits delivering 111hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. It is able to deliver up to 122MPGe city and 108MPGe hwy with a range of up to 87 miles It has no memory effect, which means that you do not have to completely discharge it before recharging, as with some other batteries. Nemo...our cute orange 500e gives me more joy than any other car we have ever owned. It is zippy, nearly no maintenance needed, really cute and plugs right into a regular outlet in the garage for charging. I was a little concerned about going all electric but I am a convert.
  • GREAT Around Town Car!

I have owned my 2013 500e for about a year. Driven it under all conditions. I never really thought about an electric car previous to this, but the prices on the used market now are a great deal (was 33,000 new in 2013, I paid less than 8000 for mine with 30,000 miles in 2017.) First of all: range. I have never had an issue with range. Keeping in mind that I drive mostly in-town, about 40-70 miles per day, this car is perfect. Its not difficult to find a fast charge to top it off during the day if wanted (I have a restaurant I frequent for lunch and will plug in for free there if I know I need to take a long trip in the afternoon.) You will notice a difference in range between summer and winter. Cold batteries hold less of a change. Range in warm weather (70+ degrees) is about 100-125 miles. In cold weather (45 degrees or less) range is about 80 miles (100% charge.) I do not have a high-speed charger at home. I just plug it in with the standard 120v. power cord and it recharges overnight (10 hours or less.) The brakes do give you some regenerative power while you drive. Range will fluctuate as you drive, and in stop-and-go traffic youll actually get better mileage than you do on the freeway. Power is amazing. You can spin the wheels with acceleration if youre not careful. Always fun to blow by a high-priced import or muscle car with this little bug of a car. Just take it easy though, or youll see your range drop quickly. Brakes are excellent. Its a fun car to drive. I checked with the local Fiat dealer regarding service, and they said, Just bring it in every 10,000 miles or so and well rotate the tires. Other than that, little service is really needed. Only fluids are washer fluid, brake fluid and battery coolant. Heating/AC system is great, but my only criticism is that there should be a vent control to open the cabin to outside air without having to turn on the electric blower. Whether you use the heater (which, being electric gives you INSTANT heat - no waiting for the water in a radiator to warm up!) or the A/C, you will see your range drop by about 10 miles when you switch it on. Plan accordingly. Sound system is excellent, with AM/FM/CD/XM/Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is excellent for hands-free phone use. You can also plug your iPod or phone into the system for your own tunes. Seating is comfortable, but not plush. This is not designed as a long road-trip car. Back seat is a bit cramped for a tall person, but with the rear seats folded down, this car has a surprising amount of cargo space. Overall, if you have been thinking of making the electric vehicle plunge and dont want to spend 30,000-50,000+ to do so, this is a great way to go.

Ive owned this car for almost two years now and its so awesome. Mileage is actually higher than stated. I get around 120 miles to a charge. Highly efficient car and super fun to drive. Seats are comfy, the interior is great, heated seats, leather steering wheel, extra details make it feel like an expensive car. LOVE having an electric, and especially a FIAT. Coolest car on the road.
